Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau

Partner for logistics and transport industry

The research group transport logistics was founded 2004 at the University of Applied Sciences Wildau by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Herbert Sonntag. At the interface of research and industry, logistics applications based upon new technolgies are analysed and developed.

Due to its focus on practical application, the research group of Transport Logistics of the TH Wildau is a preferred partner of the industry. To give a few examples:  the group develops IT solutions for bus terminals , advises industrial companies in the redesign of their production logistics systems and supports location decisions through GIS analysis and optimization. The group is also active in the field of political consulting, such as with the renowned study "Logistics in East Germany " for the German Ministry of Economy.

“The challenges that society but also the logistics market faces, make green mobility a necessity. Scandria can act as a trailblazer for future solutions.”

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Herbert Sonntag, University of Applied Sciences Wildau.

In Scandria2Act the research group has its main activities in two work-packages. In WP2, the research group develops procedures and strategies in order to foster the utilization of electric freight vehicles. In WP3, the group coordinates and analyses freight flows, in order to build a quantitative basis to foster the shift from road freight to rail freight.
