LogisticsNet Berlin-Brandenburg

 

The Logistics Network has its origin in the Logistics Initiative Berlin-Brandenburg, a programme initiated in March 2006 by the governments of Berlin and Brandenburg and supported by companies, universities and municipalities in the Capital Region.


The Logistics Network has been operating as a registered association since 2007 and is financed as PPP (Public Private Partnership).


The Logistics Network is aimed at promoting the development of the European logistics hub in Berlin-Brandenburg and delivers a full range of service from investor and marketing support to the organisation of events.


The LogisticsNet Berlin-Brandenburg is part of the Network of German Logistics Initiatives.

MODAL SPLIT OF INLAND FREIGHT TRANSPORT IN THE EU 2010-2015
  • In 2015, road transport accounted for just over three quarters (75.3%) of total inland freight transport in the EU.

  • The highest increases in the shares of road freight transport were recorded in Estonia (+23.0% due to a decrease in the transport of petroleum products), Luxembourg (+10.1%), Lithuania (+6.9%), Sweden (+6.2%) and Bulgaria (+5.3%).

  • The share of rail transport is particularly high in the Baltic States (Latvia: 79.8%; Lithuania: 65.9%; Estonia: 52.4%).
